About the artist

Hi! My name is Alice Gribble and I am a self taught linocut printmaker based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. 

It was pure fate that led me to printmaking; buying a kit for beginners from my local art shop on impulse. But once I gave it a try and experienced the satisfaction of peeling my first print off the lino block I just kept going. There's still so much left to learn! I'm thankful for the friendly printmaking community sharing their expert tips and technical processes. Hopefully as you follow my work you will see improvements.

All of my prints are made my hand in my home 'studio' - more affectionately dubbed 'the craft room' which honestly is more fitting a name. I use Cranfield Caligo safewash relief printing inks, handmade papers sourced from Calder Art Supplies in Huddersfield, and an A3 Woodzilla press. 

My work often features animals and plants, and explores themes of storytelling and whimsy.

If you have a specific design in mind for a print or you just want a Pickled Pennies print in a unique colourway, you've come to the right place.

Pricing is dependent on the time and materials required to fulfil your project.

If your project could feasibly be replicated for general sale and you are happy for the project to be sold to others then the price will be considerably cheaper. For example, if you commission a single colour print of your pet dog then I might request permission to reproduce the print for general sale. In this case, the commission fee would be reduced. If, however, you would like exclusivity then the commission fee will be higher. Projects that are unsuitable for general sale (very niche subject matter, for example) are considered exclusive prints. Once you have given permission for general sale of the project it cannot be rescinded.
